Our AI Frameworks for States and Districts provide practical guidance and real-world examples. The AiLO Coach, our groundbreaking AI-powered advisor, offers on-demand support grounded in these frameworks for the daily challenges leaders face.

Policy and Planning

We help leaders put in place the guardrails that make AI safe and sustainable. This includes principles, risk mitigation plans, and governance structures rooted in trust. We then translate those principles into a phased roadmap. Leaders also gain access to customizable policy templates, communication resources, and facilitation guides to engage boards, legal teams, and communities.

Our report, Adaptive Governance for AI in K-12: Organizing for a Competency, Not a Tool, explores how leaders can move forward with AI while maintaining trust, protecting students, improving teaching and learning, strengthening operations, and making sound decisions in an environment where the technology and its risks are constantly evolving.

Implementation Support

From pilot design to full-scale adoption, we stay in the work with you. That includes licensed, train-the-trainer content that leaders can locally adapt to fit their own priorities. These modules equip leadership teams, supervisors, and educators to carry the work forward, embedding responsible AI adoption and cybersecurity into daily operations. Leaders can also use the AiLO Coach for real-time, context-specific guidance.

Offerings include professional learning, cybersecurity training, and an AI Foundations Credential for employees, with options for customized credentialing to meet local needs. By building internal expertise through licensed content, systems gain the capacity to carry the work forward long after our direct support ends.

For real-time decision-making, leaders can also use the AiLO Coach, an AI-powered advisor trained on ILO frameworks, for context-specific guidance. We support responsible AI integration across HR, operations, teaching, and learning, always grounded in human judgment, safety, and long-term alignment.

AI Strategy & Leadership Network

The AI Strategy and Leadership Network is a highly selective cohort for superintendents, state chiefs, and their leadership teams. Over the course of a year, leaders move from ideas and pilots to actionable plans and goals at scale, supported by subject matter experts, executive coaches, and project management.

Like all of our cohorts, it is a trusted space to work alongside peers. True to ILO’s “in the life of” approach, the Network helps leaders build momentum and carry it through to execution. Members also gain access to a private hub with a knowledge library of cutting-edge research, policy resources, and implementation plans from peer projects across the country.

This Network is both a leadership accelerator and a peer community shaping the future of AI in public education.
