Christy Chang

Director

Christy Chang brings more than a decade of experience in supporting educators and leaders to drive strategic curriculum implementation across complex systems.

In 2021, she led a team of twenty curriculum writers to develop a novel-based literacy curriculum that built knowledge around hard histories and integrated scaffolds to serve English Language Learners and students with learning disabilities. She also managed the development of instructional resources and professional learning to support the successful implementation of this curriculum for all 6-8 ELA classrooms in Philadelphia.

Christy started her career in education as an elementary teacher and also served as a K-8 literacy coach in West Philadelphia. She also spent a year supporting the Elementary Superintendent at Boston Public Schools in evaluating curriculum and programming across all district middle schools, in order to identify key recommendations for strengthening literacy instruction.

Before joining ILO Group, she helped lead two district-wide curriculum rollouts at The School District of Philadelphia, designing professional learning and training teachers, coaches, and school leaders across 151 elementary schools and 16 middle schools. She also created a learning management system that is regularly used by over 1,000 ELA teachers and coaches in Philadelphia to support planning and instruction around the core ELA curriculum.
